Not as unwise but as wise
May 01It's strongly amusing, sometimes disturbing, how certain Bible verses that you've read over and over again and even considered it as 'what a cliche!' can at times bring a deep rebuking towards yourself. As if the words are not immaterial, not dead, but speaking to me in different situation and period. Waaa. Well, no surprise, isn't that why it is called the Word of Life?
Today, it's Eph. 4:15-17
"Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is."
Since I've just finished my 'exam' and I have trouble sleeping, I have decided to, yea you've guessed it, wallpaper it!

So grab it here, only 1280x960 available though...

Another one…
Mar 19Sometimes in life we get too excited or even overwhelmed with our daily activities, doing the things we love, the things we hate, getting busy all day and it's just as if doing nothing is a huge crime. Somewhere along our day to day activities, we lost sight of why we are doing all those, why are we working so hard? why do we aim for good grades? why are we earning so much money? or why do we JUST have to do something? It is a terrible ignorance to brush these thoughts off by saying "I'm just doing for the sake of it". People need to think and reflect on their lives lest they grow old, look back and regret. The point of no return.
Yes, I am refering to myself here. I need to stop and relook at my original motivation in doing things. Why is doing things so important to me. Along that line, I remember this verse from the Bible. It may be a cliche to most Christians, but maybe it is the least understood, or the hardest to obey.
So, along that line again, I made up this simple wallpaper, clearer on full view, and as usual 1280*800 and 1280*960 for widescreen and non-widescreen. I love how mac comes with a desktop where we can have changing wallpapers for a specified time without any additional programs and stuff, this makes me even more motivated to make more wallpapers. I hope with this we can all be reminded of what is supposed to be our "aim" in life.

Psych-ed about Life
Feb 19Okay the post's title has nothing to do with the content of this post.
So I've talked about hulu.com and boxee and how they worked together? Now they don't anymore! So, hulu is hulu, and boxee is boxee. Sad, considering I just bragged about it :[
Anyways, what's on hulu? I've been following Chuck, How I Met Your Mother, Scrubs and Eli Stone even before my hulu time here and I get kinda fed up cos most of 'em is biweekly, not to mention Eli Stone which is a VERY good show but is discontinued. I even showed Eli Stone to my family and they loved it. It's unique, so to say. Well, Scrubs was cool enough to give 2 episodes every week but starting this week, they kinda have a break till who knows when.
So, what a hungry girl to do? She's gotta watch something while eating right?
Found two nice ones. Both about detectives solving crimes. Somehow I love it! Psych is comedy-eey but Life is not so.
Psych tells a story of two detectives in Santa Barbara, CA (But they actually filmed in Vancouver, I heard) which one of them have heightened visual sensitivity which is why he kept refering to himself as a 'psychic' thus the title Psych.
Life, on the other hand, has a more serious tone to it. Crimes committed are more creepy and more real life compared to Psych. The main detective, Crews, was a cop who's given a second chance after serving in jail for a crime that he didn't commit. I find it rather funny tho cos the guy's weird and kinda cute at times. Repeating whatever happened over and over again, talking to himself and finally solved the crimes.
I find watching these series much better than watching those completed asian drama since I know when to stop LOL
hulu hulu!
Feb 15I'm an official hulu addict. I watch hulu for lunch, watch hulu for dinner, watch hulu to fall asleep (yeah it really helps)! Who says I'm wasting my time in US? When else can I hulu like this. LOL.
What is hulu?
Hulu.com is a free online video service that offers most updated US famous TV shows legally of course.
And while we're on mac's you feel good (Windows users, maybe one day you'll feel good too when you switch over)... This alpha mac app called boxee is supposedly a kinda social media center, but without friends inside I still got to enjoy its nice interface and its integration with many online sites including hulu, so double YEAY!
Hulu+Boxee! Such a weird name for both :]
Love,

One of those days..
Oct 13Today is one of those days that... you felt so weak, but you just have to face the reality, and go on with life.
Who doesn't want to live comfortably? Who doesn't want to just be happy, cheerful, jumping here and there? But life is just not about that. And I'm thankful that life is not all about that. No matter how easy and comfortable that kinda life is, I don't think such life is worth living
Today, as I'm doing my work, I listened to Queen's Somebody to Love. No particular reason tho, just felt like listening after listening to Bohemian Rhapsody which I randomly like to sing
Listening to Somebody to Love, subsequently reminded me of Elliot Yamin, one of the American Idol contestants who was struggling with a lot of disease throughout his life, including diabetes and something wrong with his ear even during his American Idol time.
As usual, before he sings and the judges give comments, AI will show a short clip of his background or interview with someone close to him. For that episode, it was his mom. It was very touching to see how humble this man is. And you can see why through his mom herself. She was also very humble, even while talking about her own son. One of her comment which struck me is about how proud she was of his son.
"I'm so proud of him, so proud of him. But I.. I have to impress on you, not about his talent, cause the talent is given but he's such a good soul"
Recently on the last American Idol season, he came back to perform Free on a result show. That day, he told the audience that it's the first he performs on the stage and his mom was not there cheering, because she had just passed away a few days ago. Very touching...
How funny that this post is suppose to be about me and my gloomy day, but I ended up writing about Elliot Yamin. I guess I have a lot to learn from him.
You can watch his performance on youtube:
