Yet Another Boxee Post
May 24Why do I need so many Boxee Post?
Like life, you discover the awesomeness of certain things, gradually, in a more surprising way, in a way we can understand the essence, the meaning of the things as a whole.
Okay, a tech post going philosophical.
Now, the 24" iMac is like a personal desktop and a TV as well. Due to the size, the Mac OS X inside and the fact that it is connected to my 1.5 TB external HD and another 500GB portable HD. Anyway, thanks to this I am now able to do many things I couldn't before, see many things I didn't realize before. I had Boxee on my MacBook like since it was first available as beta, when it first has hulu.com inside, until it's removed and left as video feeds. But it has never been THAT useful to me. Pretty cool and slick interface, video feeds, etc etc but I've never really digged up the features and usability further.
Firstly, of course the general interface. The concept behind Boxee is actually a social network, like Facebook and all, but for Media. So you get to see what your friends watched, what they recommended, ratings, etc.
This is the front page:
Then we have the Music section where you can choose for it to be sorted by Artists, Albums, etc.
Here it is sorted by Artists and Boxee automatically searches for the artists' images for you! How awesome is that!
More after the jump
GMail, Facebook and Apple
May 21The three of the most discussed "brand" on tech blogs. Besides Twitter, that is.
Well what's new? GMail is getting more and more far ahead its 'lousy' competitors Ya-boo-hoo and really-not-Hotmail. GMail is totally pwning the rest. Now GMail labs comes with 'Inbox Preview' while your GMail is loading.

While Gmail is loading, a simple, static preview of your inbox with your ten most recent messages is displayed. Turn it on from the Labs tab under Settings, and if you're on a slow connection you'll know from the start if it's worth the wait.

Next up, Facebook. SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM. So many people using facebook, many more scams coming out to steal your passwords and spread the fire, steal others' passwords. Moral of the story, never input your passwords anywhere except the url with facebook domain! OR DON'T SPEND TOO MUCH TIME WITH YOUR DEAR FACEBOOK!
Sites like FBAction.net, FBStarter.com, nutpic.at, bests.at, areps.at, kirgo.at, simply asks for you to input your Facebook username and password, with a design that looks similar to that of Facebook.
Don’t give this site your information. If you do, it will proceed to send all of your friends a message telling them to go to there, and hence, the scam will continue to spread like wildfire. Just like what happened on MSN.
Lastly, Apple. This is exciting! Techcruch reports that More evidence of the Apple Tablet surfaced today. Woohoo. Another addition to the mac family?
Read about it here: http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/05/21/what-we-know-about-the-apple-tablet-so-far
That's it for the tech update!
Twitter: When Web and Real Life Clashes
May 13Look at this image and start wondering:

What's that word on a cloth covering the CNN sign at its HQ in Atlanta? What's @aplusk?

Wonder no more! It's the seriousness of twitter race. Apparently @aplusk is Ashton Kutcher, the so-so actor turned wild when he obtained his 1 million follower race in twitter against @cnnbrk, which has since been bought over by CNN. So Kutcher got his 1 million follower that's his response to his victory. @aplusk cloth over CNN HQ. LOL. Kids
Anyway, not only is Ashton Kutcher crazy over twitter, Kanye West is definitely very mad. But for a totally different reason. Read for yourself. LOL.
HaHoHa.
Getting a twitter account is very easy. Maintaining it is simple. Getting one?
Let's just say, Facebook minus all the addictive compounds minus stalking on your friends and their friends and their friends' friends minus all the complicated never-ending apps but still useful for updates on happenings around the world.
All in all, lesson learned? don't get too addicted to anything LOL.

Why I Ugh Facebook
Apr 19What's up with Facebook?
Taking up a great deal of young people's time in their lives when these lost time can be used for more useful and meaningful things.
People protesting on the streets of Paris against the new design of facebook.
What's up with young people nowadays? Don't they have anything better to do?
Yeah, I'm old already.
