Christmas before FYP
Dec 20
Putting Christmas before FYP is hard. Harder if everyone else is starting on the report which is due on 6 Jan and you're still struggling to find errors in the model.
But whatever it is, I'm putting Christmas before FYP.
Not the party, nor the shopping, nor the Santa, nor the presents... but the revival service.
I know it sounds stupid, but my spirit longs for revival, especially this Christmas, after being drown by all the FYP works.
It's hard when you wake up to FYP, breathe FYP, think FYP, sleep FYP, tweet FYP or even dream FYP.
Alright, maybe that's a bit exaggerated, but FYP has indeed taken over a lot of other supposedly equally important things in my life so far.
I'll be back soon, dear FYP, but for now, I'm putting Christmas before you.

Come together one and all
In the giving Spirit
Gifts abound here great and small
Joyously we feel it.
Blessings sent us from above
Guide us on our way
We raise our voice
As we rejoice
Bow our head and pray
A miracle has just begun.
God Bless Us Everyone!
To the voices no one hears,
We have come to find you.
With your laughter and your tears…
Goodness, hope, and virtue
Father, Mother, Daughter, Son
Each a treasure be.
One candle’s light
Dispels the night;
Now our eyes can see
Burning brighter than the sun.
God Bless Us Everyone
The miracle has just begun!
God Bless Us Everyone!
Come together one and all
In the giving Spirit
Gifts abound here great and small
Joyously we feel it.
Father, Mother, Daughter, Son
Each a treasure be.
One candle’s light
Dispels the night;
Now our eyes can see
Burning brighter than the sun.
God Bless Us Everyone
The Miracle has just begun!
God Bless Us Everyone!
Easter and Aaahh
Apr 13What has it been reduced to?

It is sad and disappointing to know that people nowadays do not appreciate or even have the decency to respect the meaning of Good Friday and Easter. No one really cares about Good Friday.,and they care a little bit about Easter because just like Halloween, it's a National thing in the US. Easter Egg Hunt and the Bunny costume. People don't even remember what the eggs mean anymore. Don't even get me started on the bunny which is just like Santa Claus on Christmas Day. And apparently easter egg hunt seems to be more interesting and important than the sermon on that day. Or maybe if Easter falls on Saturday, no one will really come to church.
This makes me miss Singapore so much, despite the hectic and pressing schedules and the principle of "doing nothing is crime".
Life goes on, with all its ups and downs, joy and sadness, fun and difficulties, vigor and pain because that's the reality, each is part and parcel of the other. Sometimes it's depressing to go through so much joy at one time, just to be shattered by a whole day of screw-ups. Depressing to a point that I just want to give up trying, escape to somewhere where I 'think' I can have joy all the time. But what I've learnt through my many escapism acts in the past is that during 'escapism' period, one just felt an empty joy, or a sheer fake joy. So, why escape? Hehe. Maybe too many of those made you 'immune' to the drastic changes and just try to move on with a heart full of hopes.

Blessed are the men who fear Him, they ever walk in the ways of peace.

Christmas Eve
Dec 24How's my Christmas eve? It's quite bad. I wanted a solemn service, and I get one with loud drums and... falalala lalalala...
I don't like it at all.
I don't like how people use music that's supposedly to praise God but use it instead to satisfy their own adrenaline rush.
Made me hate sounds of drum even more...
I wanna listen to the full Handel's Messiah concert in Jakarta, badly
