
I have sorta committed myself to this so-called Blog Action Day 2008 on Poverty but apparently, honestly, I do not really have any thoughts to share on this. Maybe I’m just indifferent, or I just don’t feel that burdened about it.
It’s not that I think Poverty is not a serious problem. I live in Indonesia, not really the big city there, and I’ve been to little islands where people are barely making their ends meet. I think it’s still kinda early for me to fight the poverty in this world when I don’t think I’m even mature enough for such thing.
‘Making Poverty History’, in my opinion, is too idealistic a view. I think poverty will always be there, that’s just life. What we can really think of, is probably how to make poverty less serious as the current ones. But again, we’re just all talk no work.
Oh well, honestly, I have no idea what to write about. And I hope those reading this post, or those that know about this Blog Action Day event, those that really have strong convictions on the problem of poverty can be even more convicted, knowing that there are people in this world who are actually doing something about it.
